This is a very well run 3 star guest house in the main village of Villiersdorp. There are 3 very neat and clean rooms inside the main house as well as 4 self catering units. A perfect place to stay whilst you are doing Dale Elliott’s art course! It is a 2 minute drive! Vredelust rates are very reasonable and there is DSTV for those who can’t live without Egoli or watching the Boks.

Breakfast as well as other meals can be supplied on request although there is tea, coffee and rusks supplied in the room. The owner, Paddy, owns and lives nearby on a fruit farm – you can (on request) view her proteas, apple, pear, peache and apricot orchards.

Vredelust also just launched a 3 day, 4 night walking trail from Villiersdorp to Greyton. All you carry is your day pack and Paddy transfers your luggage and meets at the next lodge. It is fully catered too. What a great way to get fit and be in nature. There are still a few leopards in the mountains… maybe you’ll spot one in the distance or at least spoor?
