This was a great place to start the day,
where if the fresh crisp air has not woken
you up the delicious coffee will. The
kids (that’s me too!) can stretch
their legs in the play area and marvel
at the sight of Josy, the huge pot bellied
pig devour her breakfast, but don’t
laugh too loud as she is very sensitive!
Alternatively they can pet the tame lamb
or “Bok”, the hand reared
springbok, or sit on one of the trademark
tractors.
Mom’s can peruse the value packed
wooden beam home stall which stocks a
large variety of largely local produce
(trademark tractor sticker indicates local
goods), including home baked bread (and
koeksisters!) from the Peregrine bakery,
preserves and sweets and confectionaries.......for
Dad’s there is a selection of biltong
and the famous venison pies and local
wines at cellar door prices. All of this
whilst sipping some outstanding dark and
cloudy completely natural hand pressed
muslin filtered apple juice made from
local “low mileage” apples.
The apple juice is really that good that
you should drink it as soon as you get
there.
And just ask Justin, the approachable
proprietor should you have questions about
the beautiful wooden rowing boat hanging
from the store ceiling or the Ruston steam
engine from 1916..... ?
