A fabulous fun way to discover nature is quad biking with Brian. He is an agricultural scientist, the owner and the main tour guide of nature discovery tours, a wonderful combination of hiking and quad biking in the kloofs, dales and hills that stand guard around the Elgin valley. Where I see a sea of green and grey fynbos he sees a community of plant characters, each with their own stories. His knowledge and passion for all things biological is apparent in the enthusiasm with which he conveys the stories of these natural characters.

Driving on quad bikes from point to point along the secluded mountain trials is exhilarating, and the vistas are perpetual. Brian explores the high mountains with scrambling and guided walks wherein he reveals the diversity and depth of the natural biosphere which sits precariously between the farmlands of the Western Cape. This is fun, absorbing and ultimately one arrives back renewed by fresh air, unbroken views and the natural surroundings. A great adventure for individuals or corporate events. You can choose from a 2 hour ride up to a 2 day ride where you overnight in lodges on the mountain. Brian is also very accommodating of various skill levels on the bike so don’t feel intimidated! There are also some scramblers or a 4x4 vehicle for other preferences.
