Combo TA1 - Wine & Game 4x4 Excursion - from R 735 pp (May - September)*
The Elgin Valley is the centre of
the second largest apple producing area in South
Africa and is an integral part of the Four Passes
Fruit Route. It is renowned not only for its apples
and fruit, but also for its fine cool climate wines.
Tri Active takes you on a journey that explores
the beauty of the Elgin Valley and the Green Mountain
Eco Route with its endless mountain peaks and valleys
in our comfortable Safari 4x4's , through private
farm lands and estates. As part of the UNESCO protected
Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, the heart of the Cape
floral kingdom, this area is home to a rich variety
of species. Along the way you can enjoy the presence
of game such as Springbok, Zebra, Bontebok, Ostrich,
Eland, Red Hartebeest and Klipspringer. Wine will
be tasted at some of the many estates in the area
such as Paul Cluver, Beaumont, Thandi, Oak Valley,
Luddite and Goedvertrouw. The excursion is approximately
two hours in duration with stops for refreshments.
Combo TA2 - Quad Bike & Picnic Excursion - from R 770 pp (May - September)*
Take a ride through the magnificent Groenlandberg where game such as Eland, Bontebok, Zebra, Red Hartebeest, Springbok, Ostrich and Klipspringer graze in the foothills of the mountain. Nature at its best, this pristine area is home to some of the finest fynbos with some rare red data species amongst the more common plants on the mountain slope. We explore part of the Green Mountain Eco Route, a world first as a biodiversity wine route. It offers scenic beauty, natural diversity of terroir and a wide range of wine styles. It is a quad bike excursion with a difference as you discover this area filled with biodiversity. At the end of the route we stop off at the open air amphitheatre where you enjoy a picnic style lunch and a bottle of fine Paul Cluver Wine to round off the excursion. The duration of the excursion including lunch is approximately two hours.
Combo TA3 - Mountain Bike Excursion - from R 699 pp (May - September)*
Enjoy an exhilarating mountain bike ride through the Green Mountain Eco Route. The ride leads through vineyards, orchards and fynbos areas. En route you can stop off to enjoy the beautiful scenery over the countryside and taste some of the excellent wines of the area. The excursion focuses on the nature and wine aspect with descriptions of the biosphere concept, the winemaking in the area, the interesting history of these early farms where the ox-wagons passed in times gone by, and just the sheer pleasure of the outdoors . The excursion is approximately two hours in duration with stops for refreshments en route.
Combo TA4 - Guided Nature Walk - from R 690 pp (May - September)*
Take a walk through the Elgin Valley enjoying the magnificent views of the surrounding Groenlandberg. Nature at its best, this pristine area is home to some of the finest fynbos with some rare red data species amongst the more common plants on the slopes of the mountain.
A challenging route, but suitable for anyone of average fitness.
The excursion focuses on the nature aspect including a walk through the game area where fine species of antelope can be seen. It is approximately two hours in duration with stops for refreshments en route. You can also taste some of the finest wines of the area on the world's first biodiversity wine route.
